Will you offer a hand up?

Cameroon has been experiencing a conflict since 2017 that has forced thousand of families to flee their homes. Many civilians have been killed and displacement continues to have serious consequences on livelihoods and living conditions of the affected populations. More than 400,000 people have fled their homes.

Vulnerability has been further compounded by limited access to education for children due to attacks on schools.

Around 351,000 Internally Displace Peoples (IDPs) and 372,000 people in host communities need simple water sanitation and hygiene services (WASH). The United Nations has noted that only 1% of the need of the Cameroonian Crisis is being met!

In this appeal we are targeting two out of 7 villages in which homes were burnt. In the two accessed villages, over 120 families are currently IDPs (totaling over 480 people). They lost all possessions and are currently in farm shelter or with host families. The onset of the rainy season this summer will likely worsen the situation.

The need in these two villages is $43,000, including basic water, sanitation and hygiene necessities, as well as sheltering materials just to survive.

More than anything right now, we ask for prayers for our partners there who are working to help the people who have been affected by the crisis.
